Elizabeth clung to Mr. Darcy, her mind and body spinning from all that had happened. Though she had always wanted to marry for love, she had never imagined the possibility of such pleasure with a man. That yearning building, how pleasure had battered her, tightening and focusing her attention on the heat and friction of his tongue in her most intimate places.

She was, without doubt, a wanton of the worst sort, and yet Elizabeth could not condemn her actions. Nor could she find anything but beauty in what she and Mr. Darcy had shared.

Not Mr. Darcy.

Will.

And then the roof had fallen in and he had carried her to safety and asked her to marry him.

Had he asked her to marry him?

Mr. Darcy had so quickly changed the subject, Elizabeth wondered if she had misheard him.

"I can stand," Elizabeth said. She could, at the least, balance on one leg while he turned around.

Slowly, Mr. Darcy lowered her to the ground. Only when she had her balance did he loosen his embrace. He nodded, his gaze sliding over hers, flitting to her chin, her mouth, her collarbone.

Elizabeth wanted to kiss him. She wished they could return to the cottage and continue what they had started. Perhaps she could learn more of his body. Despite the pleasure he had given her, she had seen nothing of his member, nor had she brought him to climax. She wanted to see these things. She wanted to know what he tasted like and what expression release painted on his usually so controlled expression.

But did she want to marry him?

The evidence that she should was mounting: they shared a passion, he possessed a sense of humor, he had attempted, at least, to rectify his actions regarding Jane, and he had rescued Elizabeth twice now.

To enjoy the attentions of such a man, she would either need to marry him or become his mistress. And as his mistress, she would be compelled, at some point, to share him with a wife.

The thought of sharing Mr. Darcy, or worse, losing him entirely, made her guts run cold.

In such a short time, her feelings for him had moved through annoyance, betrayal, gratitude, forgiveness, desire, and now...?

"Kiss me," Elizabeth ordered before Mr. Darcy could turn around. Before they could leave the grounds of this ramshackle cottage and the privacy it gave them.

Mr. Darcy's face reddened even as his pupils widened.

Surprise? Desire?

Elizabeth did not wait for an answer. She leaned towards him, resting her arms on his shoulders. It was awkward doing this on one leg, but she felt that if she let him turn around, if they left this place, everything that had happened would fade into a dream.

Had he asked her to marry him?

Again?

Their lips met. His mouth was warm and tasted slightly sour, and Elizabeth realized she was tasting herself. Her juices.

The thought sent a hot, simmering desire pulsing through her. Mr. Darcy rested his palms on her hips, in one part steadying her, in another part pulling her closer. She leaned into the kiss, returning it with all the passion she could not put into words.
